This is how it is

This blog is going to be about Mathematics and its applications, and little (if anything) else. I have studied this subject at the graduate level, so yes, I do know whereof I speak. As the name suggests, I take a particular interest in Probability, so you'll most likely be seeing a lot of that subject and of statistics, but other branches of Mathematics will be covered as well.

Before we begin, let us understand that I used to be one of those evil creatures called a "grader", so if you're thinking of writing to me, urging me to change this conclusion or that because you think that some cause would be served better that way, or that somebody's self esteem would be helped, please don't waste my time or yours with such an effort. Mathematics is an objective subject, and the conclusions are what they are, and are not subject to negotiation or compromise.

If you find yourself feeling uncomfortable as you read these words, that is not a problem. There are plenty of Postmodern blogs for you to read. This just won't ever be one of them.
